  15.   I have the 28.8 installed on a Win95 machine: The device manager says it is 
  16. working, there are no irq conflicts and the modem works fine on another 
  17. machine. But it will not respond when a dialler runs a number or when 
  18. diagnostics tries to read it . Also the TR light does not go off when I shut 
  19. down a com program eg Hyperterminal or DUN so the port stays open???

  21. The error message is " the modem is not responding..." Could anyone suggest 
  22. why?? thanks.
